Dr. Joon-Shik Shin, Chairman of Jaseng Medical Foundation, gave a lecture to national and international manual therapy physicians on non-invasive Korean Medicine treatment methods for musculoskeletal disorders including such treatments as Chuna Manual Therapy at the ‘International Federation of Manual/Musculoskeletal Medicine (FIMM) / Korean Society of Chuna Manual Medicine for Spine & Nerves (KSCMM) 2019 Seoul Conference’ held at the Association of Korean Medicine Hall in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
At the conference, Dr. Joon-Shik Shin introduced the academic basis and theoretical mechanism underlying the effects of Chuna Manual Therapy, which is a traditional Korean manual medicine, to the multinational audience of physicians and healthcare professionals who practice manual/musculoskeletal medicine, mainly based in the U.S. and Europe.
Dr. Joon-Shik Shin remarked, “With the inclusion of Chuna Manual Therapy in Korean National Health Insurance serving as a momentum, I hope that the standards set for Chuna Medicine may serve as a global model and standard for manual therapies all over the world.
FIMM is an international federation of national academic societies consisting of physicians (MDs) and osteopathic medicine physicians (DOs) practicing evidence-based manual/musculoskeletal medicine, and it has previously served as an advisory body to the World Health Organization (WHO). The venue of this conference was set as Seoul so as to further promote and strengthen FIMM’s academic exchanges in the Australasian chapter with the inclusion of Chuna Manual Therapy into Korean National Health Insurance.
